What is Oily Skin?
11th of July, 2024
Oily skin occurs when the small oil glands in the skin become overactive and secrete too much oil which can lead to clogged pores, blackheads and breakouts.
Avoid these common mistakes that could make the issue worse...
Over cleansing the skin: Believe it or not you can cleanse your skin too often. Cleansing AM and PM is plenty.
Strong astringents: Toners with high alcohol content may strip oil from the skin but also remove moisture. Over stripping the skin can have a re-bound effect and the skin will produce more oil to compensate.
Incorrect moisturising: A light moisturiser such as a lotion rather than a cream helps prevent moisture loss without clogging pores.
